Quality Assurance Manager

Are you detail-oriented, self-driven, and ready to make a real impact? Ripley Machine is looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to lead our Quality Department while also rolling up your sleeves to inspect parts every day. We’re a small but growing precision machining company, and quality is at the heart of everything we do.

About the Role

As our QA Manager, you won’t just sit behind a desk. You’ll be hands-on in the shop, checking parts daily, performing first articles, and implementing in-process spot checks. At the same time, you’ll oversee our Quality Management System (QMS) and help us complete the transition from ISO 9001 to AS9100 certification. This is a critical role where your work will directly influence our customers’ trust and our company’s growth.

What You’ll Do

Perform daily part inspections (first article, in-process, and final checks).
Review new jobs for potential quality issues and establish inspection plans.
Own and maintain our QMS, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100.
Lead the final steps of our AS9100 transition and support external audits.
Manage all gages and inspection equipment (usage instructions, calibration, records).
Support and train team members in inspection and quality practices.
Drive continuous improvement across the company by identifying and solving quality challenges.

What We’re Looking For

Detail-oriented and self-motivated – you don’t need to be micromanaged.
Hands-on manufacturing experience – ideally in machining, inspection, or QMS roles.
Ability to balance inspection work with system leadership.
Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
Comfortable working in a small company environment where everyone wears multiple hats.
Knowledge of ISO 9001; experience with AS9100 is a big plus.
